With a squeeze to his thigh, Yates pulled Aryen s
attention away from the nice house.
Aryen turned to face the other shifter. He probably wore a
shell-shocked expression, but he couldn t help it. This area
full of beautiful pine trees, this isolated feeling of the
country around him, it called to his dingo like nothing he d
ever felt before. He hoped prayed even that the alpha
really was as good as Yates claimed.

Thinking on Yates words, Aryen decided he understood.
He felt attracted to this male, but because of how his pack
treated him, he d never have had the guts to approach him,
let alone listen and believe his words. He d been fooled too
many times.
I think I get it, Aryen murmured. He smiled and rested
a hand on Yates own and gave it a squeeze. I really do.
Yates nodded once. Good. He leaned across the center
console and pressed a quick, hard kiss to Aryen s lips.
Now, allow me to introduce my alpha. Yates tilted his
head, turning his attention across the clearing.
Aryen followed Yates gaze. He gulped upon seeing the
broad-shouldered, barrel-chested, thickly-muscled dark-
skinned male standing on the porch. The guy had his hands
behind his back and watched Manon and Luther unloading
the humans with mild disinterest. A couple of guys Aryen
didn t recognize were helping them. Declan s real focus
seemed to be on the car where Yates and Aryen still sat& or
more to the point, them.
If Aryen were in dingo form, he would have tucked his
tail between his legs.
Come on, Yates urged, pulling away and opening his
own door. When Aryen just sat there heck-fire, he couldn t
seem to make himself move a muscle Yates leaned back
into the vehicle. Ah, little one, stay still. I ll be right there.
As if he could do any different, Aryen just watched as
Yates closed the driver s side door, hustled around the front
of the car, and opened his door. I m sorry! he squeaked,
knowing he must be embarrassing the other man. Who
wanted a mate that couldn t even manage to open his own
door?
Hush, Aryen, Yates rumbled.

Rehabilitating His Dingo
His surprisingly deep voice caused Aryen to suck in a
sharp breath. He bowed his head, peering at Yates through
his lashes as he snapped his jaw shut.
Yates held out his hand. Take my hand and get out of
the car, he ordered.
Instinctively, Aryen obeyed. His body relaxed, the tension
easing from him as he followed the simple commands. He
could do this. His master mate would tell him what to
do.
This I can do.
Aryen took Yates hand and rocked up and out of the car.
Bowing his head, he watched his mate through his lashes
and obeyed when Yates hold changed from pulling him
from the car to pushing him to the side.
Yates closed the door.
Resting his hand on Aryen s back, Yates tilted his head
and spoke softly to him. You will walk beside me. You will
greet my alpha with the respect due his rank. You will keep
